I'm an army brat and spent the majority of my school years in Germany. I'm fascinated by other countries and cultures and learning history from multiple perspectives.
I've always enjoyed working as a leader. Someone who can empathize with those around me and help us all get to a happier place at work.
Let yourself be new. It's easy, as you get into the later stages of your career, to have expectations of always having an answer. Give yourself space to get answers to simple questions. Understand that everyone, no matter experience, has something to learn.
Curiosity is extremely important to me. It is important to make sure we are doing things because they are the right thing to do, not because it is the status quo.
I love the approachability of everyone at the company. I feel like I can reach out and talk to anyone, anywhere in the company. We have job titles in order to help us get the work done that we need, but they do not exist as blockers in any way.
I feel as connected to Spruce as if I was in an office with everyone. Thanks to a willingness of people to communicate, a culture of approachability that has been created, and an incredibly friendly culture I have felt more productive here than in any office I've ever worked.
Spruce is a combination of some of the best people you will ever meet. They are all working tirelessly to make the experience better and continue to improve upon all aspects of Spruce. It really is a company driven by a desire to improve the title insurance space, and improve the real estate world.
