In today's fast-paced world, technology has permeated almost every aspect of our lives, making things faster, more efficient, and more convenient. From smartphones to social media, it seems that technology has made our lives easier and more connected than ever before. But despite all of its benefits, there is one thing that technology will never be able to replace: the value of human connections.

As the Chief Client Officer at Spruce, I understand and believe that our industry cannot progress without tech-driven change. Our team uses technology to create a better experience for our customers, to streamline our processes, and to make our work more efficient. But at the same time, I also understand that our partners value human interaction and expertise. With over 35 years of experience serving clients in financial services, I still firmly believe that technology shouldn't replace necessary interactions as part of transacting–it simply enables  more time to dedicate to high-touch communications. I understand the fear and hesitancy–this world is still new and unknown, and it can sometimes be difficult to trust a machine to handle complex and sensitive transactions. Plus, it can seem daunting to adopt something new when we’re already familiar with your systems and processes.

At Spruce, our technology allows us to automate many of the mundane and repetitive tasks involved in title and closing, which in turn frees up our team to focus on building stronger relationships with our partners and clients. Adoption is even easier than it seems. With quick, easy onboarding and a dedicated team for each client, we make sure that our tech makes your lives easier.

At Spruce, our operational approach is unique–technology does not replace people or our relationships.  By combining technology and fostering high-touch person-to-person  interaction, our clients are delivered an unparalleled experience. Our team of experts have cross-functional access to product, data science and engineering teams, enabling them to stay up-to-date on best practices and make informed decisions, backed by data. A combination of expertise and cutting edge technology allows us to streamline operations, resulting in faster turnaround times, increased precision and cost savings. All of which free up our team to focus on building stronger relationships with our partners and clients.

But why is this so important? Why is the human connection so valuable, even in an age where technology is everywhere? Here are a few reasons why:

Trust and empathy: Trust and empathy are two of the most important elements of any relationship, and they are built through personal interaction and dialogue. While technology can provide convenience and efficiency, it cannot replicate the emotional intelligence and intuition that we possess. When dealing with complex and sensitive transactions, it's important to have someone who can listen, understand, and empathize with your needs.

Flexibility and adaptation: Technology is great at following strict rules and procedures, but it can sometimes struggle with unexpected situations or unique circumstances. In contrast, individuals are much more flexible and adaptable, and can think creatively to solve problems and address challenges. When it comes to title and closing, there are often unique situations that require a personalized touch, like workflow evolutions and new vendor relationships within your process. For instances like these,  it's important to have someone who can think on their feet and come up with creative solutions. When you work with Spruce, you have someone to call when you need real-time problem solving.

Building relationships: At the end of the day, title and closing is a people business. Whether it's building relationships with real estate agents, lenders, or homebuyers, success in this industry depends on our ability to connect with others on a personal level. While technology can help us manage these relationships more efficiently, it can never replace the value of face-to-face interactions and personal connections.

In conclusion, technology is an incredibly powerful tool that has revolutionized many aspects of our lives, including title and closing. But while technology can provide convenience and efficiency, it can never replace the value of personal communication and relationships. At Spruce, we understand the importance of both technology and human interaction, and we strive to create a balance between the two. By using technology to automate routine tasks and free up our team to focus on building relationships, we are able to provide a better experience for our partners and clients.
